The Humane Society of Tampa has embarked on an ambitious project to expand its capacity and enhance its services with the construction of a new four-story, 47,000 sq. ft. facility. This modern structure is dedicated to providing the highest level of care for animals in need, from intake and medical treatment to adoption. MA Engineering (MAE) is proud to have contributed comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering solutions to support this noble cause, ensuring a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for both animals and humans.
Lower Level – Intake and Medical Care
The foundation of the facility’s design focuses on the intake level, featuring surgery rooms, X-ray rooms, quarantine areas, grooming spaces, and advanced equipment for blood analysis. Specialized mechanical and electrical systems support the unique needs of these spaces, ensuring optimal conditions for animal care and staff efficiency.
Second Floor – Adoption and Housing
The kennel area is designed with openness and accessibility in mind, allowing potential adopters to easily interact with the animals. This floor includes a variety of specialized areas:
- A free-roaming cat condo,
- Open spaces for rabbits,
- Separate zones for small pocket pets, and
- Outdoor play areas.
These spaces are supported by tailored HVAC and plumbing systems to maintain a healthy and comfortable environment for different species.
