Project Overview
The Macomb County Emergency Operations Center represents a significant leap forward in emergency preparedness and response capabilities for the region. Spanning 26,500 sq. ft., this comprehensive facility integrates the functions of the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Centralized Dispatch, the Road Department Traffic Operations Center, the Information Technology Department and Data Center, and the Emergency Management & Communications Department under one roof. Designed to facilitate efficient and effective emergency response, the center is equipped with the latest technological advancements and essential amenities.
Mechanical Systems Design
- HVAC Solutions: The facility incorporates two HVAC units that service from the basement through to the second floor, ensuring optimal air quality and temperature control across all working environments.
- Data Center Cooling: Specialized Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units paired with Drycooler units are dedicated to maintaining critical temperatures within the data center, safeguarding the integrity of sensitive equipment and data.
- Vestibule Heating: Cabinet Unit Heaters in vestibules provide targeted warmth, ensuring comfortable entry and exit points during colder months.
Electrical and Power Systems
- 100% System Backup Generator: A robust 200 kVA generator ensures that the center remains operational, even in the event of external power failures, a critical feature for emergency response facilities.
- Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS): Multiple UPS systems are strategically placed to provide immediate backup power to essential equipment, minimizing the risk of operational disruptions.
- High-Efficiency Lighting: The center utilizes high-efficiency lighting fixtures coupled with advanced lighting controls, enhancing visibility while optimizing energy consumption.
